Apple‘s fight for a market share in music streaming – with Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, and other DSPs – continues as it introduces the ‘dynamic head tracking’ feature to the new iOS 15
A new feature that moves the spatial audio according to the listener’s head movement. This feature is available to users of the AirPods Max and AirPods Pro.
Billions of streams have been generated from over 40 million users since the launch of the spatial audio service earlier this year, following rigorous promotional campaigns by the tech giant.
According to Midia Research, the streaming platform (Apple Music) had about 77.9 million subscribers post-Q1 2021; meaning a sizeable chunk of subscribers (40million+) have tried out the spatial audio feature.
Apple has not released an official report on total Apple Music subscribers.
