Facebook Inc. is including content from Independent (DIY) artistes in its catalog. Having previously acquired licensing deals from major and independent publishers and labels, for user-generated content on its services; Facebook and Instagram.
“We’ve partnered with preferred third-party music distribution companies to help you get your music on Facebook and Instagram quickly, seamlessly, and at no cost to you,” announced the company yesterday, as it unveiled its Independent Artist Program.
Currently, only artists distributed by DistroKid and Tunecore will be able to make their contents available for use on Facebook, Instagram Stories and Reels. Artists will earn royalties and analytics.
