Fans and Supporters hold a candlelight procession for the late musician Mohbad


In memory of the late Afrobeats artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, devoted fans and supporters, as well as fellow artistes and rappers, gathered in the streets of Victoria Island, Lagos, on Thursday.

These ardent fans assembled for a candlelight procession that commenced at Lekki toll gate and concluded at Muri Okunola Park, where a concert in his honour was held.

The candlelight procession also held in Abuja, Abeokuta and Peckham in the United Kingdom. An obituary of his passing was also displayed in Times Square at the same time the candlelight happened in other places.

The Nigerian music community is still reeling from the unexpected loss of the emerging talent Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. His untimely demise has sent shockwaves of grief throughout Nigeria, prompting numerous fans and celebrities to express their condolences on social media. His passing represents a significant loss to the Nigerian music industry and his global fanbase.
