GODWIN TOM TAPPED AS FIRST MANAGING DIRECTOR OF SONY MUSIC PUBLISHING NIGERIA

Sony Music Publishing has further expanded its operation and market in Africa by opening an office in the most prominent black Nation on earth, Nigeria. The publishing giant has tapped Nigerian music executive Godwin Tom as the Managing Director of the Nigerian branch, who will report directly to its President International, Guy Henderson.

This move increases the publisher’s songwriters and composers roaster in Nigeria, providing them with the necessary support.


Godwin is the founder of Music Business Academy, an e-learning platform dedicated to training the next generation of music and entertainment professionals. He was the CEO of iManage Africa, a talent management company that has catered to artistes such as M.I Abaga, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, Show Dem Camp, Ikon, Yung6ix, Rooftop MCs, Waje, Wizkid, Davido, etc.

Sony says it tapped Godwin due to his experience in the African music industry that spans over 20 years. He fostered relationships with other stakeholders across Africa– South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, and Uganda.
