Hip Hop India Makes History With Guinness World Record

The dance reality show Hip Hop India, featuring Nora Fatehi and Remo D’Souza as judges kicked off with a bang on its premiere episode by setting a new Guinness World Record for the Largest Hip-Hop Dance Performance.


The show, which showcases the best urban dancers from across the country, brought together 1,864 participants who performed a hip-hop routine for over five minutes at Filmcity in Mumbai. They broke the previous record of 1,658 dancers held by Alabama, US, since 2014.

The record-breaking moment was announced by the official adjudicators from Guinness World Records, who presented the certificate to Nora and Remo.


Remo, who is a renowned choreographer and director, said that he was honoured to be part of such a historic event and praised the talent of the dancers.

He said: “Witnessing these amazing urban dancers from all across the nation in their true form is itself an achievement for me. And being a part of a team that set a world record in the field of hip-hop is an honour not only for me but for all of us who took part in it.”


Nora, who is a popular actress and dancer, expressed her excitement and joy at being part of such an indescribable feeling.

She said: “It’s an indescribable feeling to witness and be a part of such a historic moment. When it comes to dancing, I am always game to try something new and different, but what we accomplished today surpassed my expectations.”

She also added that the record-setting performance was a message to all the street dancers in India, encouraging them to come out of their shells and showcase their skills.
