Olamide: The Gift That Keeps Giving – Rhyme & Reason®

Olamide: The Gift That Keeps Giving

Share

There are many constants in life, many combinations that always yield a predictable outcome, and one of them, proven time and again, is Olamide giving anything he touches a big break.

Whether it’s by a co-sign or a feature, an Olamide draws attention to new artistes. The most remarkable thing about his midas touch is that he hands it out freely, without discrimination or expectation of anything in return. Seeing how Olamide has been everywhere and on every record this year piqued my interest to highlight his features this year.

Tingrado – Gimba

The Sarz Academy venture has been successful in producing new generation of producers. Gimba is one of such incredible producers out of TSA. Gimba enlisted Olamide for his single Tingrado, off his debut EP, Amince Da Tsari. Olamide delivered a 16-bar verse that ignited the single, ranking it among Gimba’s biggest hits to date.

Wahala – CKay

Among the many unofficial duos we have seen in the music scene, the chemistry between Olamide and CKay is just otherworldly. They have collaborated on a handful of singles and can’t seem to miss—Wahala being no exception. This Indian-inspired Afro-emo hit was a single from CKay’s sophomore album, and it’s perfection on all levels. As usual, Olamide delivered, making it the biggest record on the album.

One Day – Chike

Chike had only four featured acts on his Son of Chike album and wisely added the spice of Olamide to track 11. On this Afro-Amapiano fusion, Olamide delivered quality bars, making it one of the standout but underrated hits from the project.

Way Back – Khaid

Khaid has had a challenging year but remains on top despite it all. After his brief hospital stint battling for his life, he rode a triumphant wave with a quality drop in his three-track single pack, 444. In a no-brainer smart move, the creators of Way Back featured only Olamide, and, unsurprisingly, he delivered the project’s biggest single.

Wise 2.0 – Rybeena

Olamide was already instrumental in Rybeena’s initial breakout into the limelight, co-signing him and providing the much-needed platform to advance his budding career. Now, in a full-circle moment, Rybeena enlisted Olamide for Wise 2.0, a BusyPluto creation. The track hits at the perfect time and delights the ears, showcasing the synergy between the two acts.

W – Alpha P

Alpha P made a comeback to the music scene with his first project in five years, delivering quality on the short EP. On W, arguably the most cohesive and commercially successful track on the project, Alpha P enlisted Olamide. With extraordinary production from London, the collaboration stands out as a significant highlight.

Vibes on Vibes – Liya

On this record, one question lingers—what can’t Olamide do? Liya utilises Olamide in a very special way, handing him the hook, and he gave our natural-born vocalists and hook experts a run for their money. The Eskeez-produced record is already on track to become Liya’s biggest single, and it’s easy to see why.

What more can be said? Olamide is simply unmatched—a true gift to the music industry. His ability to elevate artists, both emerging and established, highlights his understanding of the industry’s needs and his selfless dedication to promoting talent.

Olamide’s involvement in these projects goes beyond just a feature; it reflects his passion for fostering creativity and ensuring the growth of our music globally. In a music scene often driven by competition, his collaborative spirit stands out as a beacon of generosity and vision.
