Lauretta Yemoja – COUP D’ÉTAT

Yemoja gives off the vibe of what could visually resemble the innards of a city like Lagos. Her thuggish yet girly delivery is second to none and very creative. From the cover of the six-track EP and even the title, Coup D’Etat, it is already viewed as a movement. It is almost criminal that this project went under the radar, as Yemoja went all out, even delivering multiple verses in French and skillfully blending rap with drill and afrobeats. She delivered a stellar performance on her debut EP.

Rebelwav – Farewell

Farewell highlights RebelWav‘s unique talent and her ability to morph effortlessly into different musical styles depending on what’s needed. On this single, she takes on three different artistic personas that could pass as three separate featured acts, playing off each other effortlessly, singing, rapping, and going with a drill vibe in a seamless flow.

SixSaidIt – Black Widow

SixSaidIt is Nigerian femcee and songwriter raised in the UK with roots in Atlanta and NYC, recently released a three-track single pack, Black Widow. Her music blends global hip-hop influences, drawing listeners in with familiar sounds before introducing unique sub-genres. She glides effortlessly within the elements of boom bap and a fusion of other genres for a full platter.

DEELA – Final Boss

DEELA has been on a roll this year, dropping some gems like Patience Ozokwor and Kryptonite,” but even more impressive is her latest addition to the collection. Her latest single pack, Final Boss, is a perfectly executed three-track pack (her second this year). DEELA brings her A-game representing the alternative (alté) subculture on the Genio Bambino executive produced pack. Final Boss was a recipe for hits, including Teni with a guest feature.

Deto Black- TEASE

Deto Black is just one of those artists; her music is simply captivating. With a voice and flow that immediately sets the mood, she’s been making waves with her latest single and fifth release of the year, Tease. Tease is one of those songs with the ability to turn every listener into an instant bad bitch. Along with a captivating music video, Deto Black and producer Karma Kid finish work.
