Musical maestro, Sound Sultan has died. His passing was announced by the family in an obituary, and throat cancer is the cause of death.



His throat cancer diagnosis was made public by SaharaReporters earlier this year.

Sound Sultan was signed to Kennis Music in 1997, where he released his first commercial single, Mathematics, in 2000. He left the publisher in 2008 and started his label, Naija Ninjas, under which he released 2010 featuring M.I Abaga.

Mr. Olarewaju Fasasi has worked with both local and international artistes – Plantashun Boyz, Wyclef, Sarkodie, Banky W, etc. – across different genres, and was active in the entertainment industry for more than 2 decades.
