Google and Apple are making changes to their app store policies since coming under pressure from developers and regulators around the world.
Apple published a few details of the machinery of how they now allow developers in South Korea to use alternative payment systems for in-app purchases. This feature is the outcome of the app stores and competition research that the Coalition for App Fairness commissioned. This body is made up of Epic Games, Spotify, and other companies that lobby regulators to intervene in the mobile OS app store’s policies.
Meanwhile, Google put out a proposed settlement of $90m fund launched for US Android apps developer can claim, in legal action. The tech giant has also made some changes to the agreement with developers, making it clear to tell users on subscribing outside of its (Google) system.
