Spotify launched its AI DJ feature in February 2023. The feature provided a radio-like music stream, with its artificial DJ chatting between tracks. YouTube Music appears to be preparing a version of this AI radio idea.
A Reddit user posted a screenshot showing an “Ask for music any way you like” interface in YouTube Music, labelled as an experiment. It accepts a prompt and creates a custom radio station in response.
Tech site, 9to5Google has more information on how this relates to previous rumours of a new personalised-radio feature on YouTube Music.
However, the new feature has not been announced or confirmed at this point, so as is the way of these things, there’s no guarantee yet that it will become part of the commercial service.
