Check it out, folks! Our boy Strongman has dropped his latest track, Dirge, and it’s making waves in the hip-hop scene. This eclectic and sharp-mouthed rapper is flexing his lyrical muscles like never before. And he’s got renowned beatmaker Tubhani Muzik to thank for his exceptional production skills.
His cheeky lyrics take a dig at rappers in the Ghanaian hip-hop scene. Strongman bounces his lyrics in a manner that emphasizes what he has to say. But that doesn’t reduce Tubhani Muzik‘s shine. There’s a mesmerizing xylophone and punchy bass that add presence to the song and lift Strongman‘s lyrical fire up in the air for all to hear. Tubhani also works wonders with the piano, creating a melody that hangs around even after the song is finished.
The visuals position the rapper as a teacher, schooling the other rappers, figuratively beating his chest as he announces himself on the stage. While much of the song isn’t in English, his intention is unmistakable, and the song winds down to a close.
The instrumentals and Strongman‘s flow keep the music fresh with each replay. It’s something you would enjoy.
