YOUTUBE SHORTS HIT 5 TRILLION VIEWS AND EYES NFTs

“We’ve now hit 5 trillion all-time views on Shorts,” was an announcement by Susan Wojcicki in her 2022 letter. She also announced that the number of channels that earn $10,000/year on YouTube also went up by 40% in 2021.


Other stats in the letter include South Korean YouTube channels “earned over 50 percent more revenue from Channel Memberships compared to December 2020.” Also add the revenue from Channel membership “Last year, YouTube Channel Memberships and paid digital goods were purchased or renewed more than 110 million times.”


The CEO hinted that YouTube might be interested in it, but how it will be implemented is still unknown. “The past year in the world of crypto, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), and even Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) has highlighted a previously unimaginable opportunity to grow the connection between creators and their fans,” wrote Wojcicki. “We’re always focused on expanding the YouTube ecosystem to help creators capitalize on emerging technologies, including things like NFTs…”
